The Death Toll from, China’s Epidemic Surpasses More Than 1,600

The death toll from China’s coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, surpassed more than 1,600 on Sunday, February 16, media reported.

The china coronavirus, now officially known as COVID-19, has infected more than 67.000 people worldwide, most in the mainland China.

Recently, media quoted the health officials as confirming the case of a Chinese tourist who tested positive for the virus died in France which marked the first death outside Asia.

“This is the first fatality by the coronavirus outside Asia, the first death in Europe,” the man, who was informed of the man’s death late on Friday told media.

So far, four other countries recorded the deaths due to the virus.

The coronavirus epidemic that was believed to be originated in the central Chinese city of Wuhan has continued to spread rapidly across China and around the world though there are strict efforts by the Chinese government to contain its spread.
