(TKG) ─ The Afghan parliament approved the coming financial year’s budget plan by gaining majority of votes Wednesday [January 22, 2020].
The budget allocated totals 428 billion Afghanis, with 289 billion Afghanis allocated for the ‘ordinary’ budget and the rest 139 billion Afghanis for development.
The budget plan was previously rejected by the members of parliament and was sent back to the Ministry of Finance to bring changes in both the development and ordinary budgets.
The Kabul-based monitoring organization, Integrity Watch Afghanistan, however, said that the budget does not allocated sufficient fund for the two key sectors, education and health.
The budget is the most controversial issue that is proposed spending for the coming financial year and requires parliamentary approval.
