Iran Newly Appointed Quds Leader Vows to ‘Manly’ Revenge for Soleimani’s Assassination
(TKG) ─ According to media reports, Esmail Qaani, Iran’s newly appointed commander for elite Quds Force said, the U.S. killed Soleimani “in a cowardly way” as he vowed to hit back “in a manly fashion.”
The remarks were made on Monday [January 20, 2020] in an introduction ceremony held by top Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) commanders for Esmail Qaani, the newly appointed commander for Iran’s Quds Forces to mark the formal beginning of his incumbency.
Esmail Qaani made remarks as saying, “They (U.S.) hit him (Soleimani) in a cowardly way, but with God’s grace and through endeavors of freedom-seekers around the world who want vengeance over his blood, we will hit his enemy in a manly fashion.”
Soleimani’s assassination in a U.S. air strike in Baghdad on January 3 pushed Iran to launch retaliation attacks on U.S. military bases in Iraq.
In the meantime, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has since called for the expulsion of all U.S. troops from the Middle East.
