(TKG) ─ According to a statement issued by 215th Maiwand Corps as saying to TKG, Afghan forces launched an attack on Taliban militants in the Sarwan Qala area of Sangin district, leaving five militants killed.
According to the source, the aforementioned militants were involved in an explosion on a joint checkpoint of the Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) in Sangin district.
It was, meanwhile, quoted in a statement released by the Ministry of Defense as saying that 11 members of the Taliban group have been killed as Afghan airstrikes hit them in Shorabak district of Kandahar province.
So far, the Taliban have not commented on the matter.
