Local officials in Balkh province reported the siege of Nizamuddin Qaysari’s house in Azizabad area of 5th district in Mazar-e-Sharif, Sunday [December 15, 2019].
Dr. Mohammad Afzal Hadid, Head of Balkh Provincial Council, confirmed that last night Saturday [December 14, 2019] Nizamuddin Qaisari’s house was besieged.
Conflicts have been underway since Saturday, 12:00am local time.
Mr. Hadid added that country’s judicial authorities have issued a warrant for the detention of Nizamuddin Qaisari, accusing him of having disobeyed the orders, of extortion and blackmail in Mazar-e-Sharif.
During the conflict, heavy and light weapons have been used, but no details have been reported on casualties.
However, as a result of using heavy and light weapons, several houses near Nizameddin Qaisari’s house have been reportedly destroyed.
