Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar, the deputy political chief and head of the political office of Taliban in Qatar, met with Javad Zarif, the Foreign Minister of Iran.
Suhail Shaheen, the spokesperson for the political office of Taliban in Qatar tweeted on Wednesday night that Mullah Beradar who is leading a delegation of Taliban leaders met with Mr. Zarif in Tehran on Tuesday [November, 26, 2019] and had in-depth discussions over the peace process.
According to him, the two sides also discussed the issues of Afghan refugees in Iran.
Previously, the U.S. Ministry of Defense has constantly accused Iran of supporting Taliban since 2007.
Iran refuting the U.S. allegations, however, claimed this to be a U.S. propaganda in the region.
Over the recent years, Taliban delegates have constantly traveled to Iran and discussed on various issues.
