Thousands of pro-government protesters marched in response to the recent anti-government protests in the country.
They condemned the anti-government demonstrations that left dozens killed and injured in multiple cities across Iran.
Waving the Iranian flag, carrying portraits of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as waving banners that read “Death to America”, government supporters descended on Tehran’s Enghelab Square on Monday.
Almost ten days ago, the Iranian government increased the price of fuel by 50%, after which thousands of citizens demonstrated in multiple cities across the country.
Amnesty International stated that the recent crackdowns have left more than 140 people killed and hundreds more injured and detained.
