ZABUL (The Killid Group) – At least seven civilians killed, and further 85 wounded as a truck bomb near a government hospital went off early Thursday morning, local officials confirmed.
The incident occurred around 6am, causing a number of office buildings and houses collapse after the heavy jolt.
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) office is also located close to the hospital but officials say no NDS employees have been hurt in the incident, according to report
“Ambulances have also been called from Kandahar city to transfer the wounded to hospitals in Kandahar province. Most of the victims have been taken to private hospitals,” officials added, as Tolonews quoted.
Atta Jan Haqbayan, head of the provincial council, said earlier that “20 people were killed and 60 others were wounded in the blast,” fearing death toll might rise.
Taliban asserted responsibility for the blast, saying NDS office was the target.
