KABUL (The Killid Group) – At least 22 civilians were killed and further 38 wounded in an explosion Tuesday that rocked Police District 9 of the Afghan capital Kabul – area close to Massoud Square and United States Embassy, MoIA confirmed in a statement.
The blast was carried by a suicide bomber at around 1pm local time near one of the Ministry of Defense building in PD9.
Women and children are among the victims, according to the statement.
“The Taliban terrorists have sustained major blows by the brave members of the Afghan security and defense forces on the battlefield, and they face shameful setbacks on every front, so they plan brutal and chaos-causing attacks on civilians,” the statement read.
Taliban asserted responsibility for the attack in Kabul that left 22 dead and dozens injured, as well as the blast the jolted an election campaign rally in central province of Parwan early that day, killing at least 24.

An explosion rocked Police District 9 of the Afghan capital Kabul, an area close to Massoud Square and US Embassy in Macroryan 2.
Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Affairs, confirmed the explosion took place at around 1pm local time, close to one of the Ministry of Defense’s building.
He did immediately release report on casualties.
