BALKH (The Killid Group) – The 209th Shaheen Corps said in a statement Thursday a series of operations by Afghan security forces inflicted heavy loss to the Taliban insurgents in several districts of the northern province.
During the Shaheen 212, 211 and 303 operations in several villages of Kashinda, Charbolak and Chatmal district in Balkh province, at least 16 Taliban killed, 12 wounded and further nine nabbed by security forces, the statement read.
According to the statement, Afghan security forces have been carrying various military operations, including airstrikes and ground battles, in mostly insecure areas of the Northern Province, where nine key commanders of the Taliban, along with some 230 members, killed.
Meanwhile, one force killed and two further injured in an operation carried Wednesday night.
Taliban immediately did not comment on the incident.
