NANGARHAR (The Killid Group) – At least 23 anti-government insurgents surrendered their weapons in Nangarhar province, as they joined peace process, local authorities said.
Shah Mahmood Miakhail, Nangarhar Governor, told reporters at a press briefing Wednesday that among those gave up arms are 20 members of the Taliban and three Daesh of ISIS group members.
According to the Governor, the militants used to carry terrorist and or similar violence mainly in Kot, Khogyani, Shinwar, Momand Dara and Chaparhar districts of Nangarhar province.
Taliban and Daesh militants did not immediately comment on this claim.
Since recently, Afghan security forces have been carrying different operations in area mostly insecure and are under the militants influences.
