KANDAHAR (The Killid Group) –At least six police officers, including two policewomen, killed during landmine explosion and target killing, local authorities confirmed.
Jamal Naser Barikzai, Spokesman for the Kandahar Police, told the Killid around 8:30am Wednesday, armed insurgents shot two policewomen, who were on their duty in Arghandab district, dead in Madad area of PD1 of Kandahar city.
The suspects could flee the scene, but investigations underway to bring the perpetrators to justice, he added.
In another news from the province, an unidentified gunman Wednesday morning shot dead a portal police in Panjaw crossing of PD7 in Nangarhar city.
Meanwhile, at least three security officers, who were on a curfew duty, killed and further two injured, after a roadside mine exploded in Tora Gara area of Arghistan district in the province.
But Kandahar police said one of its officers are dead and three injured during the incident.
No group of individual has immediately asserted responsibility for the attacks.
