FARAH (The Killid Group) – Farah Provincial Council is concerned about growing influence of the Taliban and its increasing attacks in the province, as they fear the province may collapse into Taliban’s hand.
Shah Mohmood Naemi, Deputy Provincial Council, told the Killid, “after Eid ul Adha, Taliban group has gained more influence in the center of the city, and also clashes between the group and Afghan security forces has increased.”
He fears the Taliban may grasp the province and gain full authority over the people.
According to Naemi, Tuesday night, armed Taliban fought a close battle with security forces in northern and western areas of Farah’s security headquarters, killing four security officers.
Meanwhile, Mohibullah Mohib, Spokesman for the Farah Police confirmed the claim, telling The Killid, at least two armed Taliban killed and further four injured duing the battle in northern part of the province.
At least three Afghan forces also wounded, he added.
Taliban did not immediately comment on the incident.
