BALKH (The Killid Group) – At least 11 civilians confirmed dead and further one wounded after a roadside mine went off in Dowlat Abad district of Blakh province in North, local authorities said.

Adel Shah Adel, Spokesman for the Balkh police, said “the incident occurred at around 6:40am Sunday, while a vehicle hit a roadside mine at Hayatan of Dowlat Abad district in Blakh.”

The vehicle was heading to Mazar-e-Sharif city from Dowlat Abad, according to Adel.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Yousif, Distict Governor of Dowlat Abad, said all 11 passengers on board the vehicle lost their lives.

In another news, police officials reported a vehicle full of explosive devices in Naw Shahr Ali Zay of Chatmal district in Balkh province, which are believed to have been prepared for a suicide bombing during the Independence Day celebration in Mazar-e-Sharif city.

One suspect has been arrested by the authorities in this regard.

Taliban immediately did not comment on the incident.
