KHOST (The Killid Group) – A group of women in Khost province stood up for a gathering Tuesday, as they call on the Taliban to stop violence and take measurable steps to ensure peace in the country.
They want outstanding role in the peace process and upcoming presidential elections.
“Women should raise their voice against the ongoing war in the country,” said Nemat Bibi, member of Khost Provincial Council, as quoted by Tolonews.
“Once again I call on both sides to stop the war and have mercy on our people, women and our orphans,” said Suhaila Noori, a Khost resident.
Meanwhile, Khost Governor Mohammad Halim Fidaee said women should be given role in the peace process.
“We should support the role of women in the peace process,” Fidaee said.

It comes after recent attacks in the province that flipped the relative calm routine of residents into a worrisome ones, as civilians were targeted with multiple explosions and roadside mines.
