HERAT (The Killid) – At least two civilians killed and three further wounded, as Taliban group emerged into a battle within themselves, local authorities said.
Hekmatuallah Hekmat, District Governor of Shindand, told The Killid, “since last midnight, war raged between two groups of the Taliban – Mullah Rasool and Mullah Haibatullah’s members – in Nasrabad of Shindand district, and until now is ongoing.”
As one of the groups fired a shell against the other, at least two civilians killed and further three wounded, he added. Number of casualties might increase.
Meanwhile, eyewitness said at first five women and two children were injured as they were being transferred to the hospitals; but two women and one child couldn’t make it alive to Herat hospital.
Taliban immediately did not comment on the incident.
