President Ashraf Ghani met with Iranian Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, discussing technical, transit and trade cooperation in Chabahar Port.

KABUL (The Killid) – Afghan President Ashraf Ghani met with Iranian Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian, discussing technical, as well as transit and trade cooperation in Chabahar Port, the Presidential Palace said in a statement Wednesday.

According to the statement, Ghani stressing the need for cooperation between the two countries on energy and infrastructure projects said, “we must work on appropriate solutions for the use of natural energy in the region.”

The Chabahar Port – as a developing-commercial port – should be a foundation for development of both countries and the region, he added.

Meanwhile, Reza Ardakanian said Iran and Afghanistan have good potentials for producing solar energy in the region, and Iran is ready to share its experiences with Afghanistan in these areas.
