HERAT (The Killid) – At least five Afghan National Army forces killed during clashes with the Taliban insurgents in Kashk Kohna district of Herat, as the group raided against the security forces posts.

Fawad Aman, Deputy Spokesman for the Defense Ministry, told The Killid, “attack against the National Army’s posts in Kashk Kohna district of Herat was carried by the Taliban, who retreated the battle with Afghan security forces in Abkamari district of Badghis and entered Kashk Kohna district.”

At least five National Army members killed during the battle and a number further injured, he added.

Sources called it eight, who suffered injuries.

The Taliban bore heavy loss during both battles, where officials said some 30 Taliban were killed only in Abkamari district of Badghis.

“Taliban raided in a bid to gain control over the Kashk Kohna district,” Aman said.

Meanwhile, Farzad Frotan, head of Herat police press office, told The Killid, “during the Taliban attack last night (Monday) in Bazar Kohna post of Kashk Kohna district, three Afghan National Police and a local police killed, and further one wounded.”

Taliban immediately did not comment on the incident.

Kashk Kohna district of Herat province is connected to Badghis province in northwest of the country.
