Faryab (The Killid) – Security officials helped free at least three children Wednesday from human traffickers in Maimana city of Faryab province, local authorities said.
Karim Yourish, Spokesman for the Faryab police, told The Killid, “these children are between 8-15 years old, originally from Kabul province, who were betrayed by human traffickers and transferred to Faryab province and attempted to Herat.
According to Yourish, security officials could identify the kids in a hotel in Maimani city and helped them free from traffickers.
The perpetrators fled the scene, he added; but the children are safely returned to their families today morning.
Meanwhile, sources said at first there were five children betrayed by human traffickers; two are reported lost on the way in Mazar-e-Sharif city, and no one knows about their whereabouts.
Local authorities said the perpetrators has been wanted in the city, and officials now have some clues in bringing them to justice.
