HERAT (The Killid) – Provincial security police freed a young man who was kidnapped roughly 30 days ago in western province of Afghanistan, local authorities said in a statement.
According to the statement released Thursday morning, the victim has been languishing in a residence at PD6 of Herat city for a month – who was kidnapped on his way to school at PD1 of the city.
Officials did not provide any details on the identity of the young man, but said he is now safe and sound returned to his family.
Meanwhile, security police did not arrest any suspect in this regard, saying the kidnappers left the scene before authorities arrived. Investigation underway, the statement read.
It comes at a time residence raise concerns over increasing insecurities in the city, and urge government to ensure their security with a greater approach.
