Officials Inaugurate Drug Recovery Center
KABUL – The Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement officials inaugurated Drug Recovery Center within its facilities, a separate center of the counter narcotic ministry.
According to the statement released Wednesday, the first ever Drug Recovery Center – for mules smuggling contraband – is inaugurated within the ministry's facilities.
The center has been established for smugglers who staffed narcotic drugs in their stomach, in a bid to smuggle them out of the country.
Paswal Mohammad Hashim Ortaq, Deputy Minister of the Counter Narcotics, said cases where security officials arrested smugglers swallowed a certain amount of drugs, would go through a long process until contrabands are out of their bodies, causing series of problems.
The center is established with a total cost of $120,000, with separated facilities for men and women.
