Faryab Clashes Claim 5 Afghan forces, Wounds 4

FARYAB (The Killid) – At least 13 anti-government armed members were killed and further 13, including 6 Uzbekistan nationals, were injured during clashes with Afghan security forces Tuesday in Pashtoon Kut and Dowlat Abad districts of the province, local authorities said.

FARYAB (The Killid) – At least 13 anti-government armed members were killed and further 13, including 6 Uzbekistan nationals, were injured during clashes with Afghan security forces Tuesday in Pashtoon Kut and Dowlat Abad districts of the province, local authorities said.  

Mohammad Hanif Razae, Spokesman for the 209th Shaheen Corps, told The Killid, “at 2:30am today (Tuesday) Afghan security forces and Taliban insurgents encountered a heavy battle at Nazir Abad and Nader Abad areas of Pashtoon Kut district, during which 11 insurgents were killed and further seven wounded.”

He further said two militants killed and six other militants – Uzbekistan national – wounded as Afghan security forces fired bombs at Taliban’s hideouts in Dowlat Abad district.

Meanwhile, five Afghan forces killed and further four wounded during the battle with armed insurgents, Razae added.

Taliban immediately did not comment on the incident.
