BALKH (The Killid) – At least two children were killed as a roadside mine went off at Khan Abad of Char Bolak district in Northern province of Afghanistan, local authorities said.
Mohammad Hanif Razae, Spokesman for the 209th Shaheen Corps, told The Killid, “this mine was planted on a roadside by anti-government militants, and yesterday afternoon (Sunday) it exploded at a time two kids were playing.”
The victims are below 12 years of old, sources said.
Meanwhile, in another news, a key Taliban commander Anar Gul (known as Shuaib), along with his bodyguard, was killed during an operation by Afghan forces at Bai Temor of Chat Mal district in Balkh province. Three further guards were wounded.
Razae of the Shaheen Corps said clashes occurred Sunday afternoon, where the Taliban suffered huge losses.
It comes following operations Afghan forces carried in North in a bid to clear areas and districts of Taliban presence.
