BALKH (The Killid) – At least 87 anti-government militant group members, including 22 of their key commanders, have been killed during several military operations carried by the 207th Shaheen Corps in a number of districts in Northern province, north officials said.

Further 77 militants wounded, including 17 team leaders of the group.

Mohammad Hanif Razae, Spokesman for the 209th Shaheen Corps, told The Killid, “these operations have been carried since 10 days in Dowlat Abad, Balkh, Char Bolak and Chat Mal districts of the province, and so far heavy casualties have been inflicted to the Taliban.

Meanwhile, seven Afghan forces suffered injuries during the operations, and two children killed as a roadside mine planted by the Taliban went off in the area.

Some 30 villages are freed of armed insurgents, as security officials wrecked a number of Taliban hideouts in the areas.

During the operation, security officials established a full facilitated post at Alam Khail of Char Bolak district to insure security of Mazar-Shebirghan highway.
