KABUL (The Killid) – President Ashraf Ghani at the 5th Annual European Anit-Corruption Conference Wednesday said Afghans pay the price of war with their blood on daily basis, adding it is time now for peace and the opportunity should be grasped.
“We must know the price of war; if we do not know the price of war, we cannot take right decisions for peace,” Ghani said.
The president depicting to the ongoing peace negotiations with the Taliban said, “In the face of peace, we will deal with any kind of obstacle.”
But “Now is the time for peace and the opportunity should be used,” he added.
Ghani also exclaimed the government is committed to implement the resolutions of the Grand Consultative Loya Jirga on Peace, where steps have been taken to improve relations with Pakistan and to have regional and international consensus.

It comes after the Presidential Spokesman Sediq Siddiqi expressed hope saying by the end of September this year, the United States delegation and the Taliban group will be able to reach an agreement facilitating talks between Afghan government and the Taliban.
