FARYAB (The Killid) – At least 18 villages in Pashton Kot are freed of opposition groups in Faryab province, Ministry of Interior said in a statement Monday.
According to the statement, Afghan security forces in a special operation carried since days in Pashton Kot of northwest province, has ended Sunday.
Meanwhile, dozens of Taliban militants have been killed and wounded during the operation, as well as several landmines were discovered and neutralized by the forces.
Taliban did not comment on the incident immediately.
Faryab is one the most insecure province in North, where the Taliban influences most of the areas.
