FARYAB (The Killid) – In a couple of operations carried by Afghan security forces against the Taliban insurgents in Pashtoon Kot and Bul Chiragh districtsi of Farya, at least five insurgents killed and further six wounded, local authorities said.

Mohamad Hanif Razae, Spokesman for the 209th Shaheen Corps, told The Killid, “yesterday afternoon (Saturday), in continuation of the 103th Shaheen operation, Kata Qala district of Pashtoon Kot and Zarshoy Bala (up), Zarshoy Payen (low), and Belar Sazi of Bul Chiragh districts were cleared of the Taliban insurgents.

According to Razae, at least six landmines were discovered and seized by the forces during the operations.

The 103th Shaheen operations by Afghan forces have been carried for two weeks now, in a bid to clear areas at Maimana, as well as in Pashtoon Kot and Bulchiragh districts in Faryab province.
