KABUL (The Killid) – In a long and controversial process, the Afghan Parliament at last set its administrative board, with Mir Rahman Rahmani as the Speaker of the House.
Amir Khan Yar, an MP from Nangarhar province, has been elected as the First Deputy Speaker, with 131 votes.
His rival Mohammadullah Batash failed to beat.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Shah Ramazan, an MP from Balkh province, elected as the Second Deputy Speaker of the House by securing 119 votes.
This comes after the legislators succeeded to elect a new speaker following rift on a controversial vote which stalled the process for almost 40 days.
