KABUL (The Killid) – Afghan President Ashraf Ghani left Kabul for Islamabad Thursday morning, upon a formal invitation by Pakistani leader, to discuss some vital issues on Afghanistan, ARG said in a statement.

The key issues revolve on peace talks with the Taliban, regional connectivity, trade ties and investment, and overall security situation in the country.

The Afghan government has said the trip will also help to find out how Pakistan can contribute in Afghan peace process.

President Ghani’s trip comes after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stressed on Pakistan contribution for Afghan peace, as saying it plays “important” role in bringing peace to the country and region.
