HERAT (The Killid) – The Taliban insurgents raided Gulran district in western province of Herat, local authorities said.
Abdul Ahad Wali Zada, spokesman for the local police, told The Killid, “Thursday night, the armed Taliban gathered from several districts, and attacked against security posts in a bid to take control of the Gulran district.”
According to Wali Zada, clashes between the Taliban and Afghan forces – which lasted until 6am Wednesday – claimed more than 10 Taliban, and further 15 wounded.
At least one afghan security force killed and two further wounded, he added.
Meanwhile, some sources claimed during the clashes in Gulran district of Herat province, at least eight Afghan security forces killed and 16 further wounded, which is denied by the spokesman of the local police.
The Taliban group so far did not comment on the incident.
