BADGHIS (The Killid) – Members of Provincial Council expressing concerns over Taliban’s intensifying moves in northwest of the country said, the group has shut down power and telecommunication networks in Badghis province.
Abdul Aziz Beg, Head of the Provincial Council, told The Killid, “since many day, the Taliban’s activities in several districts and nearing center of Badghis has intensified, and Taliban halted main roads connecting Jowan to center of Badghis and Herat-Qala highway.”
Taliban, in an unfulfilled demand of electricity in their dominated areas from the government, has cut off the power and telecommunication cables, causing trouble to local residents.
Taliban demanded local authorities to hand them over all economic projects, according to Beg.
But the officials said has no authorities on demanded projects.
