Mazar-e-Sharif (The Killid) – The United States Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad met with former Governor Atta Mohammad Noor in Mazar-e-Sharif province in north.
According to sources, they discussed topics around peace process in Afghanistan, where Kahlilzad also met with a number of prominent security officials in the city.
“I met with Balkh Provincial DG Shuja, Deputy Corp Commander Adam Khan & political leaders including Atta Noor and Muhammad Mohaqiq, civil society, & women,” he said in a tweet Wednesday.
Khalilzad exclaimed, “There is widespread support for a peace agreement that protects the gains of the last 18 years ASAP.”

Khalilad, during his trip to Afghanistan did not just met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, but also politicians, where the focal point of the talks were ongoing peace negotiations with the Taliban.
