SAR-E-PUL (The Killid) – Since the beginning of the 209th Shaheen Corps operations in several parts of Sar-e-Pul province, the team caused heavy loss to the armed opposition groups and freed Qashqari, Baghawi, and Zek Zek areas from their control.
Zabiullah Amani, Spokesman for the Provincial Governor, said to The Killid, “during the incident, 16 members of the armed opposition group are killed and further 23 of them are injured, including Mullah Bashir, a key commander to the Taliban.”
Meanwhile, at least two Afghan security forces are killed and further four are injured.
The 209th Shaheen Corps have launched a series of operation since Monday in areas mostly dominated by Taliban – in a bid to provide peaceful environment for the residents in southern part of the province.
