FARAH (The Killid) – A local mullah is suspected of killing 11 members of at least two families in neighboring Khak Safed district, provincial authorities said.
Mohammad Shoaib Sabet, Provincial Governor, said, “This mullah – whose name is Mohammad and lives in Khak Safed district – shot 11 members of two families dead.”
One further wounded, he added.
According to Sabet, the suspect initially opened fire against his own family, and then killed his neighbors when they intruded the house amid terrifying sounds of firings.
The motive behind the attack is over inheritance and ancestral property, as he said the areas is located at most insecure areas in the province.
Sabet exclaimed that investigation is underway, and will provide a cash award for security forces after bringing the suspect behind the bar.
Khak Safed district is one of the most insecure areas in Farah province, where Taliban gain much of control over the residents.
