Heart (The Killid) – Provincial authorities foiled smugglers plan to move some 8000kg meat to neighboring country of Iran, authorities said.
Jelani Farhad, spokesman for the provincial police, told The Killid such an amount of meat had been embedded in a refrigerated vehicle, and failed to succeed as local police discovered and seized.
At least one man charged with the case has been arrested.
Meanwhile, a representative to local butchers said to The Killid that increasing cost of meat and livestock are of driving factors for smugglers to transfer it to neighboring countries illegally. He further said up to 4000 cattle are being moved to abroad daily.
Recently, beef and lamb hits 450 per kilo, an increase price to the previous cost of 350 Afghani.
