Heart – At least 1,000 forces has newly been recruited under the 207th Zafar Corps in Western province of the country, making an attempt to better facilitate security measures in war-raged districts.
Commander of the 207th Zafar Corps Gen. Noorullah Qadiri said new forces will be deployed to different districts, ensuring safety of the provinces in North, adding armed oppositions will not be able to achieve their goals.
“The enemy plans to close the main roads, destroy the bridges and hospitals but they will not be able to reach to their goals,” said Qadiri as quoted by local media.
A battalion commander of the 207th Zafar Corps Nazir Ahmad Salik said the new soldiers will undertake short-term training and then will be deployed to different provinces in a bid cracking down militants.
“They will be trained for 12 weeks in Herat Training Center,” said Salik, according to sources.
Meanwhile, newly appointed armies – with their given mission throughout the western provinces – exclaimed visions of fighting terrorism towards stabilized society.
“We joined the Army to fight against those who want to target our people and destabilize our country,” said Sarajuddin, an Army soldier, as quoted by local media.
“We joined the Army to defend and serve the country,” said Kefayatullah, another soldier.
Last year, at least 3,000 people had been recruited under the 207th Zafar Corps in western province, according to the statistics by the Corps.
