Iran Warns Afghan Refugees of Withdrawal Amid Intensified Sanctions by U.S.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran says it may ask Afghan refugees to withdraw from its country if the United States pushes further through its sanctions against the Islamic nation.

Iran Warns Afghan Refugees of Withdrawal Amid Intensified Sanctions by U.S.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran says it may ask Afghan refugees to withdraw from its country if the United States pushes further through its sanctions against the Islamic nation.

Abbas Araghchi, Deputy Minister for the office, said, “Currently more than 3 million Afghan refugees are residing in Iran, of which 2 million are occupying job opportunities, and 3 to 5 billion euros are being out from Iran annually.”

He further said 468,000 Afghan pupils are obtaining education in various Iranian institutions, and each costs 600 euros ever year.

Meanwhile, 23,000 Afghans are gaining higher degrees from Iranian universities, costing some 15,000 euros each per year.

Araghchi estimates 8 billion dollar for each Afghan refugee sheltering in the country.
