Farah (The Killid) – At least four districts in southwestern province of Farah has fallen into Taliban’s hand, and six further districts are on brink of collapse as security is loosen, according to local authorities.
Shah Mahmood Naemy, Deputy for Provincial Council, in a phone interview with The Killid said, “Khak Safed, Bakwah, Gulistan and Sheb Koh districts are completely under control of the Taliban militants.”
But the Ministry of Defense said otherwise, refusing the claim.
Qais Mangal, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense said to The Killid, “Afghan security forces are dispatched at all areas of Farah province, while carrying airstrikes and ground attacks against the armed opposition groups.”
According to Mangal, the militants suffered a great loss during the operations.
Meanwhile, Naemy of the Council added six further districts are on the verge of collapse, as security officials has limited control over the area.
He also claimed that at least 30 Afghan National Army forces have been killed during clashes with Taliban in the past two days.
The Taliban so far did not comment on the claim.
