Heart (The Killid) – As seasonal downpours flooded in western province of Heart, hundreds of shelters and infrastructure facilities in several districts are wrecked during heavy rain showers and landslides, causing deaths and substantial loses.
Jelani Farhad, Spokesman for the provincial governor, said to The Killid, “In this floods five people lost their lives and 17 passengers of a Falankoch car [public transportation vehicle] are lost at Obba district.”
According to Farhad, the natural disaster has caused heavy causalities to the residents of Herat; but the level of loss are not yet clear.
Meanwhile, media officers of provincial authorities said in a statement that 13 men, five women, and a number of children – who were trapped in Falankoch – have been reported lost at Obba district.
Only one corpse of the victims has been found, according to the statement.

It comes after the a heavy downpours hit several districts of the province since the past 24 hours, leading people far away from their residences, and further ruining hundreds of farmlands and shelters.
