Takhar (The Killid) – Man, 25, committed suicide in central Takhar province of Taluqan after suffering poverty and financial crisis within his family for a certain period of times, local authorities said.
Jawad Hijri, spokesperson for provincial governor, told The Killid, “The 25-year-old man has just returned home from Iran.”
According to Hijri, high unemployment rates and lack of financial resources for the family lead the young man to suicidal act, hanging himself to death Monday night.
He further said that victim’s father is suffering mental illness.
It comes at a time Afghanistan hits top of the list amongst unemployment rates, leading mainly young generations throughout the country to seek asylum to neighboring and European nations.
