2 Key Commanders of Taliban Killed in Faryab

Faryab (The Killid) – At least 16 armed insurgents, including two of their key commanders Mullah Arif and Mowlawi Ghiyas Uddin, have been killed in several military operations in Qesar district of Faryab provinc, local authorities said.

According to provincial officials, Afghan forces have carried ground and airstrikes in the province that left 15 further insurgents wounded at the areas.

Mohammad Arif Razae, spokesperson for the 209th Shaheen Corps, said to the Killid, “These operations at Haidar Khan and Buri of Qesar districts were carried last night, targeting armed insurgents at the area.

It comes weeks after the Taliban carried heavy attacks at Qesar districts of Faryab, inflicting a huge lose not only substantially, but also to Afghan security forces.
