Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah said prioritizing peace in the country does not mean halting election process; fair election could solve country’s problem.
Abdullah referring to the outcome of Doha talks between the US and Taliban representative said the Taliban cutting off contacts or any interference with terrorist groups – including the al-Qaeda – will solve a major problem of the country.
Abdullah said any decision concerning peace in Afghanistan will be determined by Afghan government and people, as the citizen will be part of the process through the national and inclusive negotiating team.
According to Abdullah, peace will only prevail if the Taliban sit on a round table with Afghan government.
Chief Executive’s remarks come after the Unites States special envoy and the Taliban delegations end the marathon talks in Doha, saying both set up a draft agreement on foreign troops withdrawal and counterterrorism.
