Herat Parliamentary Candidate Assassinated

Herat – Ali Jumma, a Herat parliamentary candidate has been assassinated by a number of armed men in western province of Afghanistan.

Gelani Farhad, provincial governor spokesman, said the incident happened last night at Monaraha of Herat province. The investigation is underway to identify who may have had hands behind the conspiracy.

Meanwhile, in another news from Herat, at least five people, including women and children, have been killed and wounded in a terror attack.

Provincial police in a statement said the incident happened last night at city’s 64-meter-long highway, where a magnetic mine had been embedded on a vehicle that killed five.

Local health officials, meanwhile, confirmed that two women, including one child, have been admitted to its facilities.

At least one man has died in the terror attack, Gelani said.
