Kabul (The Killid) – In their bid for peace in Afghanistan, a number of residents stepped out of their homes for a symbolic protest in the capital city of Kabul, as they denounced the ongoing insecurities and bloodsheds in the country.

Afghans Step Out in Symbolic Protest for Peace

Kabul (The Killid) – In their bid for peace in Afghanistan, a number of residents stepped out of their homes for a symbolic protest in the capital city of Kabul, as they denounced the ongoing insecurities and bloodsheds in the country.

Young protester, with their move today, called for Afghan government, politicians and neighboring counties’ officials to put an end to the ongoing going war, exclaiming enough is enough.

Protester are seen tagged in white-blood-shed attires, as they marched under the rainy weather around the city, while some other seen with face masks on demonstrating a zombie walk.

The move comes amid the fifth round of talks in Doha that appeared to continue behind the closed doors since past two weeks, entering the day 15 of the peace negotiation between United States special envoy Zalmay Khalilza and the Taliban delegations in Qatar.

Protesters are heard chanting mottos “Muslims are brothers to each other, war is enough”, as they started marching from Dhan Bagh and ended up with pieces of letters behind the gates of embassies of Pakistan, Iran, Germany and UNAMA office in the capital city.

Participants accuses neighboring countries of involvement in the past 18-year conflicts in the county and urged government to prosecute war criminals and violators of Human Rights.

Dawood Yaqubi, who heads the symbolic protest, said to the Killid, “Afghanistan is now battling a crucial situation. I urge the United States to not compromise the rights of Afghan people with the Taliban (referring to US-Taliban talks in Doha).”

“Afghan people are tired of war and craving for peace in the country,” said Farishta, a participant. “The government of Afghanistan should take some measurable steps towards peace.”

Meanwhile, another participants Zakia said neighboring counties should act against militant groups in their soil.

“I want our neighboring countries to act against terrorist groups that are conspiring attacks from their soil.” Said Zakia. “They (referring to neighboring nations) should not equip and facilitate them (militants groups).
