Balkh (The Killid) – A number of Afghan youths and volunteers portrayed some 70 photographs and arts works at a public venue in Balk province.

Young people says, through the exhibition they wanted to portray the past years’ civic values in the country.

Kaveh Besharat, organizer of the street exhibition and manager of Nay club, said at least 50 photographs and 20 paintings have been exhibited.

According to Behsarat, the concept behind this move is to depict the struggles Afghan suffered in past 18 years in the country.

Meanwhile, Mehdi Niyazi, one of the cultural activists in Balkh, said to the Killid, “Holding such an exhibition at a public venue has a great impact, which opens door for people to be encouraged for maintaining civic values in the country.”

Young organizers believe it is their responsibility to maintain civic values.

The one-day street exhibition, in cooperation with Nay club, is held nearby Rozay Sharif (Blue Mosque) in Balkh province.

Some live music also played, as the audience randomly visited the exhibition.
