Herat/Farah (The Killid) – Hundreds of residences and farms has been ruined as rainwater flooded in Heart and Farah, West and Southwest provinces of the country.
Abdul Hamid Mobarez, Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority in Western provinces, said to the Killid, “Recent heavy rainfalls have caused damages to residents in Farah and Herat provinces.
Mobarez said that Chesht, Ubba, Adr Skin, Gozra, Pashtoon Zarghoon, Push Koh, Shindand and Zer Koh districts of Herat, and Parcham, Annar Darra and Khak Safed districts of Farah province are the places mostly ruined by the flood, causing countless damages to residences and farms.
“Sources said that some residents have lost their lives due to heavy rainfalls in the area,” Mobarez further added. Care and Supports for the victims are underway.
Meanwhile, Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) said in a statement that hundreds of residences are collapsed and thousands acres of land has been damaged in the flood.
Two men died in Shindand district, the statement also read.
