Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman met Chinese President Xi Jinping as he started his South Asia and China trip last week.
During the meeting, Saudi Arabia and Republic of China have discussed a wide-ranging and comprehensive talks on forming a mutual political trust and support, ensuring bilateral cooperation and core interests in various development areas.
China will enhance cooperation with Saudi Arabia and open up a new prospect for China and Saudi Arabia’s friendly strategic relations in the future, Xi made a remark when meeting MBS in Beijin on Friday.
Both leaders agreed to fortify the synergy of One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiatives – also called Silk Road economic belt – and push for practical cooperation on infrastructure construction, energy and finance.
Xi said the two sides should promote counter-terrorism cooperation in the Middle East, enhance international cooperation and prevent the spread of extreme ideas.
Mohammad bin Salman (also called MBS) expressed gratitude for China’s Support on Saudi’s reform considering China a vital strategic partner to Saudi Arabia.
He added that Riyadh will support the China-proposed OBOR initiatives and is more than willing to cooperate with Beijing on its future economic visions.
It comes after Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman inked at least seven investment accords with Pakistan worth $20 Billion on his first drop to Islamabad; most contracts on oil, gas and mines.
