Taliban Admit Last-minute Peace Talks Delay

Peace Talks between US negotiators and Taliban delegations, which was planned on February 18 in Islamabad, has been delayed, the Taliban Admitted in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, the Taliban delegations were prepared for talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad, but most members of the group could not attend as they are UN blacklist and banned to travel.
The statement, however, did not cite whether or not the talks were postponed by Taliban.
It comes after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has lodged complaint with UN Security Council over the planned meeting between Taliban delegations and the Pakistani prime minister, stating it a “clear violation of Sovereignty of Afghanistan”.
Afghan government asserted that the Taliban delegations invited to Islamabad are UN blacklist and are banned to travel. Any approach disregarding this, is a clear violation of UN and international law.
Meanwhile, the Afghan government lodged a similar complaint on February 7 over a recent summit, where Taliban representatives have traveled to Moscow.
According to Afghan government, Russian allowed Taliban members to enter the country despite them being on UN blacklist.
Moscow talks held in February 4-5, where Taliban delegations and a number of Afghan politicians have negotiated to end the 17-year conflict in Afghanistan.
