At least 28 Afghan investors have participated in agricultural expo, where Afghanistan’s saffron, dry and fresh fruits, as well as country’s dairy products have been displayed in the five-day exhibition dubbed “Gulfood 2019”.
Nasir Ahmad Durrani, minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), on Sunday inaugurated an international agricultural exhibition in Dubai, wherein Afghanistan plays vital role in a bid for economic growth.
Akbar Rostami, spokesman for MAIL, exclaimed the minister will continue bid for a breakthrough in Afghan products to attract international investors through exhibition.
According to Rostami, Afghan and Japanese investor will meet on the sideline of the exhibition to discuss development opportunities and mechanize agriculture in Afghanistan.
“The Afghanistan part of the exhibition was inaugurated by the agriculture minister today,” he said. “Afghanistan’s agricultural products including dry and fresh fruit, vegetables, medicinal plants, pine nuts, and others are on display in the exhibition.”
Afghan investor, who participated the five-day exhibition in Dubai, expressed hope saying Afghan economy will flourish if they could attract international investors and sign agreements with them.
“It is a good opportunity for us to find more customers for Afghanistan’s saffron. We held talks with some Arab investors today (Sunday) who said they are interested in purchasing Afghan saffron,” said Mohammad Nadir Malaki, an Afghan investor.
Investors from 120 countries have attended the exhibition.
