Sar-e-Pol (The Killid) – At least 17 armed insurgents were killed during a special operation in highly insecure areas of Sar-e-Pul province. The clashes left at least 7 other insurgents wounded, the provincial forces confirmed.
Mohammad Hanif Razai, 209th Shaheen Corps spokesman, said to Killid that several police posts, which had been fallen to the hands of Taliban in Sayad districts, are retrieved during “Waleed 36” operation yesterday.
He added that the operations were carried out through air and ground strikes, whereby an important and strategic area of the Taliban located in Bulan Ghor district, has been seized by the security forces.
Sources says, the planning and launching of the Taliban’s attacks are commonly initiated in Sayad and surrounding areas.
The “Waleed 36” operation has been carried out in Sayad, Sanchark, and Sozma Qala districts of Sar-e-Pul province in order to take down armed insurgents.
